You will need more than cookery skills for this activity with challenges to test the skill and nerve of your team mates awarding “fun dollars” for each completed challenge! Spend these in our Chinese mini market later on in the activity.
A high energy event with lots of fun and banter!
Your guests will arrive to a warm welcome from our team, our event host will then divide the group in to sub teams and begin with introductions to the chefs and event assistants with summary on the challenge that waits for them.
We will begin with a warm up team exercise to engage the group in the activity, this will be followed by health and safety and some housekeeping from your host, who will then hand over to the chef(s) for a demonstration on the technical aspects such as knife skills and Chinese cuisine to include cooking a wok stir fry, side or dim sum, and a rice dish with plenty of tips and tricks for all the guests to put in to practice later in the cookery element of the activity. After the demonstration your host will summarise again to make sure all the teams and appointed head chefs/team leaders know what they are doing. Culinary challenges will commence to earn money for the mini market.
Once challenges conclude teams can negotiate ingredients with our market trader using their hard earned dollars. To conclude team leaders or head chefs must persuade the judges why their menu is the best in taste and value. Judges will take into consideration budgeting, team work creativity, colour, texture and of course flavour. Each team will be expected to produce a menu board, dim sum or side option, rice or noodle dish and a stir fry dish for the judging panel.
