Paul Hartley

Founder and Event Director

Our Founder and Director Paul Hartley brings an impressive wealth of experience to the company. From Head Pastry Chef at the Pharmacy in London to a Head Baker at a Relais and Chateaux Hotel. Hes worked with the most renowned chefs in the world including Marco Pierre White and John Torode. Also he is proud to of worked alongside Michel Roux Junior, Lesley Waters, Brian Turner and Jason Atherton.

At the beginning of his career Paul worked at a French Michelin star restaurant, called Le Pave d’Auge. This gave him a strong foundation, igniting a passion and determination to learn as much as he could. Blood, sweat and tears (and of course hard work) really did pay off for him. Later in his career Peter Kroone head hunted Paul. Peter was the MD at the Chewton Glen, Paul was employed to help maintain their various accolade’s and Michelin Star status. During this time the Chewton Glen Hotel ranked the best country house hotel in the world! In 2007 Paul set up Hartley’s Events and now delivers events for SME’s and for some of the most successful companies in the world.

Kate Hartley

Commercial Director

By the age of twenty three Kate had sold her first very profitable successful business. Charmed by chooclate with husband to be Paul they married soon after and went to London. She bloomed in London wand believed that Paul’s chance to work at the Chewton Glen was impeccable timing. Relocating and motherhood was not a time for Kate to relax. Whilst five months pregnant she set up another business which prospered overnight and was almost self running 2 months later! When baby number 3 arrived Paul and Kate set up Hartley’s Events. She loves being a business partner with her husband and aims for excellence in everything she does.

Sarah

Head Chocolatier, Baker, Patisserie Chef and Confectioner

Sarah has worked for Hartley's Events since 2009 and is our ‘chocolatier extraordinaire’. With a passion for the sweeter side of food whilst training to be a chef, it became very apparent that Sarah had a flair and gift for desserts. This led on to further training and she became a qualified Patisserie Chef, Baker and Confectioner. When Sarah had children she had a change of direction and took a sideways step into chocolate manufacturing. Here she worked at an artisan chocolate producer based in Dorset. We are delighted to have Sarah on our team she brings expert knowledge and skills. Also much credance as she is featured in several books.

Tash

Patisserie Chef and Cake Expert

Tash has worked with Paul and Kate for the last ten years. Kate and Tash acutally went to school together and Kate even took part in pre-wedding preparations for her. She is the cake expert at Hartley’s and has been making celebration cakes since 1997. Its always great fun when Paul and Tash are on events together there is a healty competitive spirit between them.

Jason

Head Chef

Jason always wanted to be a chef and was fortunate to attend Bournemouth and Poole Catering College. Even now this is still considered to be one the best catering colleges in the UK. During his time there he was lucky enough to gain six month’s work experience in a 2 Michelin Star restaurant in the South of France. Here he was impressed by the dedication and passion of the chef’s he worked alongside and the fantastic produce that they used. His career then saw spells in London, West Sussex and again in France, many of them Michelin starred establishment’s. While working at Hartley’s Events since 2010 he has enjoyed travelling, researching flavours and trends around the world.

Paul M

Head Chef

Mr Paul Millington says he felt privileged to be bought up in a catering environment and his Dad was eager for him to follow in his footsteps. Initially he rebelled against his father but was later persuaded and enrolled on a professional Chef course at Bath College. Thankfully Paul fell in love with cooking immediately and still loves it fifty years later. From running hotel chains, to fine dining restaurants and bistro pubs Pauls career has been rewarding and varied. Shortly after opening his first pub it was voted Best Free House in the Midlands and came third in Great Britain for it's food.

Dave P

Event Manager

Dave is our pastoral carer and who we go to when we need a shoulder to cry on. As an Ordained Vicar he’s the first one to insist on everyone having a break, a chat and a cup of tea! He is a brilliant events manager and his love for people really shines through. When Daves on an event we can be certain that our team will feel very blessed as we know he will be prayful.

Anna Hartley

Operations and Event Manager

Anna has been brought up with Hartleys Events and cant help but love it! She has worked with Paul in operations since she was 15 years old now in her twenties Anna is an asset to the project management team. She has been moulded into one of their most efficient team members and senior event managers. You know the events going to be fun and full of energy when Anna is managing it.

Dave H

Trainer, Event Manager, Videographer and Media Expert

Big Dave has a wealth of knowledge, experience in training and event management. One of our most trusted facilitators he also comes with the bonus of being a complete media expert and photography whizz. Operations are one of Dave's specialties which is such a benefit to Hartley’s Events along with his expertise in project management. Big Dave loves his food, that's why he's BIG!

Steve

Business Consultant & Advisor, Trainer, Event Manager and Photographer

Firstly the Hartley team were thrilled when Steve approached them to came onboard. In the first instance Steve comes from a impeccable background of high level senior hotel management. In addition to this Steve is also a specialised business consultant. Majoring in areas such as accelerated business growth, interim management, organisational development, business performance improvement, and managing people. Coupled with the fact that Steve is a very humble and likeable gentleman he ensures that the bar is pushed higher every time.
