Introduction

We really have thought of it all with this activity, we originally put this together as a bespoke activity for a client, the result was an instant success so we decided it should immediately go on our al al carte menu of events, be warned this is fast, fun and perfect for energetic teams as they go head to head making and baking cupcakes with a cocktail theme and then making the cocktail to go with it, we will expect each team to make a Mojito cupcake and cocktail, a cosmopolitan Cupcake and cocktail plus 1 of their own design for our chefs and mixologist to judge

Event Outline

Guests will arrive and be ushered to their colour coded cook and mixing zones which will have all the equipment, ingredients and mixers for the afternoon activity. Your event host will quickly get the teams in to their colour coded aprons and open with an icebreaker challenge, this will be followed by teams selecting a project manager and head chef for the task ahead. The host will keep the energy going by questioning each head chef and creating some banter, this will conclude with a yes chef from each team. Your host will then hand over to the chef who will instruct the group on some of the technical skills of the activity such as making and baking cupcakes, making boozy buttercreams and making perfect cocktails. Each team will be expected to make the following items:

6 Mojito cupcakes with 6 perfect Mojitos

6 Cosmopolitan cupcakes with 6 perfect cosmopolitan cupcakes

6 cupcakes and 6 cocktails of each teams own design

To conclude teams will present their efforts on a gingham alter ready for judging, we encourage company managers to get involved with judging for that extra bit of fun!

Itinerary

12:00 Events crew arrive onsite and set up, this can be at any venue or location nationwide and beyond.

13:50 Room is set and our event host will meet your point of contact.

14:00 We warmly welcome your guests and explain what is to be expected of them, guests are put into teams (unless pre-selected) and go to their colour coded cooking zones. Hats and aprons are put on and a Head Chef (who will be awarded the head chef hat) is appointed by each team

14:15 Some good housekeeping with a health and safety briefing relevant to the tasks and venue is given by our host followed by interviewing the head chefs from each team, the briefing and warm up session is rounded off with a “yes chef!” from each team.

14:20 A demonstration is given by our chef(s) relevant to the menu or challenge, this may be on a big screen for larger groups so all the guests can see and understand the technical skills that are required such as knife skills presentation techniques and good food practices.

14:40 Preparing and cooking the food commences

16:30 Cooking concludes, and teams sit down to share and enjoy the food they have made. The chef will judge each course if the event is competitive.

16:55 The winning team is announced, medals awarded and proud photo moments for the winning team are shared. During the event debrief your host and chef will share the most amusing moments and highlights from the activity and conclude with thank you’s and goodbyes.

17:00 Event crew commence derig (we leave the event space clean and tidy)
