Do you want to sharpen your teams and give them the cutting edge? Slice, dice, cook and bake your way to success, this is a 100% hands on team activity racing against the clock.
Marks Set Cook is the perfect cookery activity for competitive teams as an afternoon energiser.

Event Outline

In Marks Set Cook your host will create the buzz and pressure of a busy kitchen in this competitive culinary activity.  Your event host will welcome and divide the group in to teams then turn up the heat with an icebreaker challenge, this will be followed by a demonstration from our chefs who will be on hand to assist with creative ideas and cookery tips using the mystery basket of ingredients on offer.

Teams will select one of our mystery baskets, in addition each team will receive a budget to spend in our onsite mini market that includes additional luxury ingredients, blackboards, pens and a market trader to bid and barter with for that essential ingredient to make that extra special dish. This is an excellent way to get your teams thinking about resourcing, budgeting and negotiation while adding another dynamic of communication to the activity.

To conclude Marks Set Cook our Head chef will visit the cookery zones to taste and judge the team efforts awarding “Bank of chocolate dollars” for each of the team efforts, the chef will award dollars to the value of what he/she believes the meal is worth. Dollars awarded from the cooked dishes will be added to the dollars left over from the team budget given at the start to decide which team managed to stand up to the heat and receive the master chef medals.

Marks Set Cook Sample Itinerary

12:00 Events crew arrive onsite and set up, this can be at any venue or location nationwide and beyond.

13:50 Room is set and our event host will meet your point of contact.

14:00 We warmly welcome your guests and explain what is to be expected of them, guests are put into teams (unless pre-selected) and go to their colour coded cooking zones. Hats and aprons are put on and a Head Chef (who will be awarded the head chef hat) is appointed by each team

14:15 Some good housekeeping with a health and safety briefing relevant to the tasks and venue is given by our host followed by interviewing the head chefs from each team, the briefing and warm up session is rounded off with a “yes chef!” from each team.

14:20 A demonstration is given by our chef(s) relevant to the menu or challenge, this may be on a big screen for larger groups so all the guests can see and understand the technical skills that are required such as knife skills presentation techniques and good food practices.

14:40 Mystery basket allocation to the teams and the whistle blows for Marks Set Cook

16:00 Cooking concludes, and teams must present and persuade the chef why their dish is better than the rest!

16:20The winning team is announced, medals awarded and proud photo moments for the winning team are shared. During the event debrief your host and chef will share the most amusing moments and highlights from the activity and conclude with thank you’s and goodbyes.

16:30 Event crew commence derig (we leave the event space clean and tidy)
