Key Skills

An extremely fun, creative and very, very chocolaty activity. Each team will have to assemble, brand and name their new rollercoaster made entirely out of chocolate. Structures must be free standing with a special feature and a poster to complete their challenge, we will provide sugar icing to make the carriages (and riders if you’re good enough!)
To begin our event manager will explain the challenge, then our experienced chocolatier will give an inspiring demonstration. They will show the teams how to melt and temper chocolate (we may make some sections of track in advance if there are tight time restraints), the chocolatier will proceed to make and construct sections of track with a special feature and support beams equipping the teams with the necessary skills for the task.
The tasks may include the following:
We will give a few tips on how to organise themselves however part of the task will be to see how the teams decide to tackle the challenge and delegate roles.
It is then over to the teams to design, construct and build their rollercoaster concepts. Points will be awarded for team work, design, construction and special features, points will be deducted for poor construction and shoddy structural engineering.
Additional Extras to consider
12:00 Events crew arrive onsite and set up, this can be at any venue or location nationwide and beyond.
13:50 Room is set and our event host will meet your point of contact.
14:00 We warmly welcome your guests and explain what is to be expected of them, guests are put into teams (unless pre-selected) and go to their rollercoaster construction zones. Hats and aprons are put on and a Head Chef (who will be awarded the head chef hat) is appointed by each team
14:15 Some good housekeeping with a health and safety briefing relevant to the tasks and venue is given by our host followed by interviewing the head chefs from each team, the briefing and warm up session is rounded off with a “yes chef!” from each team.
14:20 A demonstration is given by our chef, this may be on a big screen for larger groups so all the guests can see and understand the technical skills that are required such as tempering, constructing techniques and good food practices.
14:40 Preparing and building commences!
16:30 Construction concludes, and teams sit back while the “safety officer” checks their brand new rollercoasters. Teams have a chance to pitch to the judges, before a winner is finally decided.
16:55 The winning team is announced, medals awarded and proud photo moments for the winning team are shared. During the event debrief your host and chef will share the most amusing moments and highlights from the activity and conclude with thank you’s and goodbyes.
17:00 Event crew commence derig (we leave the event space clean and tidy)
``We absolutely loved it, thank you so much``
